Experience the thrill of a 2-day adventure package, combining the excitement of rafting and canyoning. Two wet, but different experiences. Our canyoning trip takes place in Veo in Sjodalen. It is an excursion with minimal hiking and a focus on exciting individual activities such as zip-lining, jumping and swimming in the rapids. Family rafting takes place on the Otta river. It is a rafting journey filled with excitement, laughter, and the thrill of conquering rapids togethe. In between family friendly rapids you will get the chance to swim in the river, jump off cliffs, play games and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Riverboardi is the perfect follow-up activity after family rafting. With a board and flippers, you navigate down the river. It is a tough activity in a controlled environment. You will have the opportunity to surf waves and head down rapids under the watchful supervision of our guides, with the approach adjusted to accommodate the ages and skills of the participants. The rafting tour is on the Gudbrandsdalslågen or Ottaelva, depending on water flow. In between family friendly rapids you will get the chance to swim in the river, jump off cliffs, play games and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Experience a one-of-a-kind adventure in Norway by combining rafting and Via Ferrata. Right behind our base, we have built a Via Ferrata route that offers a fantastic view of Sjoa, Gudbrandsdalen, and the surrounding mountains. Wearing a helmet, harness and sling, you will climb the 250-meter-long route up towards Slåfjellet. It’s a spectacular climbing route where nature, views, and a sense of achievement take center stage. The rafting tour is on the Gudbrandsdalslågen or Ottaelva, depending on water flow. In between family friendly rapids you will get the chance to swim in the river, jump off cliffs, play games and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

We guarantee adventurous memories through exciting activities in a safe environment. Consideration is given to the age range within the family, ensuring activities are at a level where everyone can participate. Rafting is a major attraction in Sjoa, but we also offer several other exciting activity options.

The base of Explore Sjoa is situated idyllically at Aamodt farm in Gudbrandsdalen. Surrounded by mountains and rivers, this place serves as a perfect starting point for memorable days in Sjoa. For accommodation options, you can choose between rooms and cabins. All our rooms and cabins have private bathrooms and include bed linen and towels. The main building dates back to 1747, and here we serve breakfast and dinner in our cozy fireplace lounge. After a full day of activities, you can relax and enjoy delicious homemade food in a room that takes you 300 years back in time. All our rooms have private bathrooms and include bed linen and towels.

YOU SHOULD BRING

Water activities: wool or thermal underwear to wear underneath the wetsuit. Via Ferrata: ordinary outdoor clothing that can withstand weather and wind, and sneakers.

We were a family of five where the mother received rafting as a birthday gift. We stayed from Friday to Sunday and enjoyed an evening barbecue. From start to finish, an incredibly pleasant weekend with lots of fun, friendly guides, and great hospitality from the hosts. Highly recommended!
